Secret R6 To Play At The Premiership Finals This Weekend

This Saturday our Rainbow Six Siege roster of meepeY, Lacky, LeonGids, sTiZze and Elemzje will fight to be crowned the best team in the UK and Ireland as the Finals of the ESL Premiership Winter Season takes place.

Since joining Team Secret almost four months ago, this roster has achieved enormous success as they finished joint third place in the World at the inaugural Six Major in August followed by a third-place finish in the European region of the Pro League just over a month ago. They will now go into the Finals of the British national tournament of R6S as the standout favourites to earn the title – their first since joining the Team Secret community.

The ESL Premiership is primarily a way to foster new talent within the British and Irish R6S scene, giving new teams a chance to compete against professional rosters, such as Team Secret, as well as experience offline events as coming up this weekend. With increasing attention being brought to the competition, and with tickets to the event selling out within a week, the British Team Secret roster is surely helping grow the R6S community within their home nation.

Despite drawing their opening game, Secret was a real force during this season of the league as they won 41 out of the 60 rounds they played earning themselves a 6-1-0 win-draw-loss record. This was mainly thanks to the fragging prowess from the players of LeonGids and Elemzje, led by our in-game leader of meepeY, that few other players in the league could match. Below you can see a remarkable clutch by LeonGids and Lacky which booked their spot into the Finals:

The finals themselves will see Secret join three other teams at the ESL One Studio in Leicester, England, to compete for the top share of the £10,500 prize pool. They will play the fourth-seeded team of Unnamed in the semi-finals, a team which includes two ex-Pro League players, before meeting either Vexed Gaming – their ex-coach, Ferral’s, team – or MnM Gaming UK – the team which Secret drew to in the first play day of the Season – in the grand-finals.

This sets up what should be a thrilling line-up of matches that we are hopeful our team can come out on top of. Here’s what our team captain, Matthew “meepeY” Sharples had to say about the season so far, the upcoming LAN and the new operators just after the sixth play day of the season:

With the upcoming season of the Pro League delayed, this is an excellent opportunity to see Team Secret play on the newly released “Operation Wind Bastion” update which adds two new operators, a new map and a slew of new balance updates to the game with the Premiership being the first LAN event in the World played with these recent changes.

The ESL Premiership LAN Finals kicks off this Saturday (December 8th) at 1PM CET with the finals scheduled for later that day at 7PM. We wish our team the best of luck throughout the day and be sure not to miss any of the action by keeping up to date with us on social media:
